Dublin Core
Title
Jack a Both Sides!
Description
In this print Frederick North is shown, balancing on his left toe, on the center of a beam of a pair of scales. He stands so that the scale on which Fox is standing (right) rests on the ground, while that on which Shelburne stands is in the air. From the dark clouds in the upper left corner, the King’s head (back view) and his right arm appear. The crown is poised above the king’s head. Here Gillray is emphasizing the Justice is unbalanced by British authorities, similarly as in Justice’s scales in ‘Design.’
