Title

A Paris Beau

Description

‘A Paris Beau’ depicts a French Revolutionary soldier wearing the bonnet-rouge. As evident in the print, Gillray regarded the soldiers as manic and barbaric individuals. This print is included in the exhibition to showcase how Gillray ultimately likened political Whig-head Charles James Fox to that of the French soldier by repeatedly depicting him wearing the bonnet-rouge.
